Back from Partay

Great party at . All the other people wearing ties must have left early. =) Took Ro, saw all sorts of people I haven’t seen in awhile. Got out of the house, and was social, it was good for me. Thanks to , in particular (and, of course, and ) for the party.

It’s good to get out.

Outlined my Analytic essay. Worked earlier today. So, tomorrow I finish work, finish the essay, and start on my statement of purpose. Application due monday. Oy.

Here is a revised version of my resume. To be specific, this is the uncut version. I won’t include the braindead code monkey jobs on the one I send with my public policy application, nor will I include the technical skills. Otoh, I won’t include the touchy-feelier portions of it for tech consulting work. I may also juggle sections around as appropriate, not as sure on that point.

So, there’s the notion of the unwashed nerd, and their many social failings that is popular among my more mainstream friends. When hanging out among my nerd friends, I have noticed trends that I like, and trends that cause me to roll my eyes. Sadly, they are often the same trend applied in different circumstances. I myself regularly fall prey to some of them. Most especially the notion that a friend of a friend is a friend. So appealing, and yet so very not the case.

I urge you to check out this article to get a better notion of what makes me tick in my charmingly neurotic ways. I hope to use the reflection this has prompted to seperate a bit of the neurosis from a bit of the charm. =) Read it and you might even figure out a bit about yourself.

Past 24 hours

I finished the Ro recommendation letter. Still haven’t given it to him for review. Handed in passport application, debt consolidation loan payment, and first insurance premium for blue shield. Tonight will be more fun with the resume, for grad school stuff. Emphasis will be placed on research, and human interaction/instruction stuff. Also writing analytical essay, and possibly outlining the statement of purpose. May also try to do something for a consultant-y resume, but I suspect that will wait ’til next week. Or maybe even Austin. Oh, btw, I’m going, tickets will be purchased, as soon as I recieve confirmation from my host(s). =)

Now on to the application. I wonder if I’ll ever get around to studying for that whole final thing I have going on next week.

Texas over christmas?

Hmmm, Austin, TX is looking like a possible holiday destination. Might I rely on one or more of my wonderful lj-subscriber type folks in that area to put me up while out there? Happy vibes into the universe. I think I’m going to go pay for insurance and get a passport. Must also bust ass on berkeley application this week. Including writing letter of recomendation from Ro. Wheeeee.
