Environmental Classics 11: Pulping the South

This one’s a little better.

A complement to this would be the easing of labor transitions, perhaps even into the development and implementation of these new techniques, through investments in education and other sorts of human capital. It is important to realize that competitive economic systems are also crucial to sustainability and social justice.

rules for work/school/fun balance

Well, I’ve been slacking, that’s for certain. So, I’m going to recreate the situation I had going on at the GAO, and see if that results in me pulling my act together. On campus, all work, no play. No im, no lj, no video games, save at lunch, and during truly useless lecturces. =) nytimes is allowed. At home, no work, all play. Well, no school work anyway. Maybe it’ll work.

As I noted to just before he got off the train. If I had to pick some work to be remembered for at this point in my life, it’d be this journal. I’ve stuck with it far longer than any job, relationship, or apartment I’ve had.

The GAO’s offer & survivor’s guilt

This afternoon I ran into my fellow intern in the halls. She hasn’t received an offer yet. She hasn’t heard anything yet. She’s stressed about it. Hrm. =/

I think she wants it more, though in many ways she didn’t demonstrate that enthusiasm over the summer. GAO healthcare, though is right up her alley. And she’s even taking the policy evaluation course that I dropped. Way more dedicated.

I hope my optimistic words do apply and she will get an offer soon.

Regarding christmas gifts and imminent travel

In IM: “If they’d [my family] all get on my massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, I could get each of them the perfect gift for their race, class, and level.”

Also, I’ll soon be in the bay area for the weekend. fyi. I will be busy with conference and other prearranged people hanging, but I expect to be sucked into board gaming on saturday evening.
