Friday evening I ended up buying the next nausicaa manga (#2, which I of course finished that evening), getting some walking and geek store browsing in. It was good to get out of the house. Even if it was a solitary venture. <\/p>\n

Saturday ended up not involving any gymnastics spectation, gay or otherwise. Ended up learning a great deal about how the democratic party works while hanging doorknob thingies all over the castro with for ‘s bid for a position on the san francisco dccc. Which was kind of fun, despite my fucked up knee (doing much better now, thank heavens for knee braces). Back across the bay for my laptop, bike, and clothes to spend the night at tom’s (he being my new final recommender, and me not seeing enough of him on a general basis). <\/p>\n

Biking to some place in the inner sunset for a young democrats technology initiative fundraiser. It was pretty expensive, but a good cause, and rather enjoyable. I think the biking left me more awake\/aware\/engaged. Got to listen to Assemblyman Leno (who officiated ‘s and ‘s marriage talk at length. I liked what he had to say. Craig of craigslist got up and spoke for awhile. I don’t remember much of what he said, but I found him pretty agreeable. Then Peter Schurman of moveon.org spoke. He impressed me quite a bit, with a pretty solid analysis of how the role of the internet in politics (as well as moveon in particular) was all playing out. He was quiet, and maybe a little monotone (Luke later complained that it nearly put him to sleep), but I liked what he had to say a great deal. Plus, very attractive. I chatted with him briefly afterwards about moveon. Yay. Need to remember to sign up for their “geek organizer” online job fair.<\/p>\n

Then biking to bart, getting screwed up about the train, meeting tom at san bruno. Dinner at garden fresh, Geeking out at tom’s place, him watching tivo, and me playing with his broadband connection via wireless on my junky laptop. It was like the phillips house, only not as many really cool people around. <\/p>\n

After that, finding trader joe’s with Tom to get the stuff to make chana masala. making chana masala, and sharing it with Charlie, whom I don’t see nearly enough. It was interesting trying to find common ground for them, but film seemed to provide something. Talked some Arcana Unearthed with Tom. He said he was going to do as good a job on my recommendation as he could, and send it in on his own (today), rather than just rush through it and turn in something very basic. Yay Tom. =) <\/p>\n

Then went to a weekly dinner with a group of friends of his, where much european politics was talked about in the kitchen, while another group, with Tom, watched the oscars in the living room. *yawn*. I skipped out at some point to go back home. whee. <\/p>\n

And that was more or less my weekend.
