Week before that, no parties.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday.  4 parties (excluding one I just said &#8216;no, sorry, already overcommited&#8217; to).  Spacing &#038; timing, people, c&#8217;mon.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here they are.<\/p>\n<p><!--more way over done internal debate-->Touchy\/feely gay community group potluck 3-7ish <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>pros: new gay guys, time convenient, right next door, possible useful contacts.\n<li>cons: probably an older crowd, complete unknowns, high potential for irritatingly irrational flakes.\n<li>frequency: apparently rare (avg 1 event\/month with this group, and not all events are nearly accessible)<\/ul>\n<p>Strategy gaming party, 3-whenever <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>pros: fun, known likeable peoples, novel games, free range geekness, flexible timing, whee.\n<li>cons: In alameda, conflicts with all other parties, does not offer dating pool expansion possibilities.\n<li>frequency: happens about monthlyish.<\/ul>\n<p>Cal gay grads event, 8 &#8211; late <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>pros: new gay guys (grad students even!).  easily bartable.  I get to pick up my dishes.  know two specific good guys there.  sushi!\n<ul>\n<li>cons: out-of-place-ness (not a grad student).  &#8216;sharp dress encouraged&#8217;.\n<ul>\n<li>frequency:  Seems like gay grad social things happen at cal once or twice a semester.  I have been to zero.<\/ul>\n<p>BFC member&#8217;s Mardi Gras party  8 &#8211; way too late <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>pros: many gay guys, mixed party, some pre-existing social connection, not too bad to get to.  possible flirtations with medic types that I already know and can expect to see on a regular basis.\n<li>cons: high likelihood of discomfort based on recreational consumption, small out-of-place-ness, &#8216;masks encouraged&#8217;.\n<p>definitely going to try to cap the partiness with the potluck and the mardi gras party.  Waffling on the other bits.<\/p>\n<p>Also doing bike construction foo, pre potluck.<\/p>\n<p>Oh yeah, possible party here in two weeks (on the 15th).
