I don’t think I mentioned it, but a week ago yesterday was my first anniversary at a full time job. I spent it waiting to fly to dc for a briefing where I think I assured that I can make a career here if I want to.<\/p>\n
Do I want to?<\/p>\n
This job isn’t bad, in fact I might even say it’s good. Already higher salary than anything I’ve had before, including what I made with Ro compared on a per hour basis. Duties aren’t hard. People are friendly. Work is helping me grow in important ways.<\/p>\n
It’s also painfully bureaucratic, regimented, dry, uncreative, and not my core interests.<\/p>\n
I’ve thought aboout pursuing additional degrees that are more explicitly environmentally focused, but I’m starting to think that that may be a bad idea. More school as a delaying tactic.<\/p>\n
Awhile back I had the idea to make documentaries about the issues I cared about. Less self-focused than Moore’s or Gore’s. More like “The Corporation”. I also went to the podcasting seminar at origins and it got me thinking that that would be awfully cool.<\/p>\n
Things are better than they were a few months ago on the emotionally dead\/depressed front, thoough they still have some distance to go. That is the state of the scu for now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
