10 years ago I was starting my third semester at CMU, crushing hardcore on Ross, living in VOH, and generally not doing so hot with my life. This was the semester where I would ultimately withdraw from all my classes, leave campus housing, have the worst case of bronchitis I’ve had in my life and come out to my family. There were also some transitory good things that year. I really enjoyed the mage\/vampire game I was playing with , , Dave R (dr4m) whose last name I cannot recall, and others, run by Leon, my roommate at the time.\n
5 years ago I had just moved from boystown to Schaumburg. I was still trying to figure out a way to make motorola work for me for two years. I was living with Stephen Christopher Starkey, and I owned a car, though I owed my parents 2 thousand on it. I think it was the end of october that I moved in to wicker park. I’d recently met .\n
4 years ago, I’d just moved back to Pittsburgh, I was living with , while my computer lived at the chateau d’, , bbailey, and (am I missing anyone? I think yes, Chris?) I functionally lived where my computer did. I was working for CMU at computing services.\n
3 years ago, I’d just moved to Oakland. I was doing temp jobs and starting my medic training at the berkeley free clinic. I lived with Simon, , and Abram. I’d just met Ro, he might even have suggested the whole job thing by this time, though I’m not sure.\n
2 years ago, I’d been at the place in berkeley for a few months, Simon was back from IBM in NY, I don’t remember if we had at that point. Shannon and Ro were certainly both there. I was taking housing and the urban economy at uc berkeley with Quigley. Still working for Ro.\n
1 year ago, I was in the midst of my first semester at UMN, working (slacking) as a research assistant. I’d just moved in to the spot I’m still living in with . I think we still had gregg at that point as our third housemate. I’d probably just met . I still thought I wanted to do urban planning stuff (hah!) I was blissfully unaware of the surprise my ass had in store for me. And I was enjoying school.\n
yesterday, I woke up with Scott, lingered in bed awhile, showed him back to my place (he delivered a new-to-me lamp in the process). See yesterday’s entry for most of the day, then I moped around the house for a bit tired, headachy, slightly cranky, and totally not party ready. I therefore kept procrastinating going to Scott’s going-away\/house-warming\/birthday party. I feel uber lame about that now. I read a fair amount of Collapse<\/i>.\n
today. I finished the Greenland Norse (GN) situation chapter and have started on the GN collapse chapter. I’ll be seeing Paradise Now<\/i> this afternoon. Probably finishing my environmental classics reading and paper then hopefully starting on my project plan for economic development for tomorrow evening. Oh yeah, and online bill paying.
